Chaque FNB à effet de levier et à effet de levier inversé vise à obtenir un rendement, avant déduction des frais, inférieur, ou égal à 200 %, soit -200 % du rendement d’un indice sous-jacent, d’un indice à terme sur marchandises ou d’un indice de référence déterminé (la « cible ») sur une période d’un jour. Chaque FNB inverse vise à obtenir un rendement correspondant à -100 % du rendement de sa cible. En raison de la capitalisation des rendements quotidiens, le rendement d’un FNB à effet de levier et à effet de levier inversé pour toute période autre qu’un jour fluctuera probablement et, pour le FNB à effet de levier et à effet de levier inversé plus particulièrement, peut-être dans le sens opposé du rendement de sa ou ses cibles pour la même période. Les frais de couverture imputés aux produits BetaPro réduisent la valeur du prix à terme payable à ce FNB. En raison du coût élevé de l’emprunt de titres notamment de sociétés du secteur du cannabis, les frais de couverture imputés au FNB HMJI devraient être importants et sensiblement diminuer ses rendements pour les porteurs de parts, ainsi que compromettre considérablement sa capacité à atteindre ses objectifs de placement. En ce moment, le gestionnaire s’attend à ce que les coûts de couverture imputés au FNB HMJI et assumés par les porteurs de parts se situent entre 10,00 % et 45,00 % par année de l’exposition théorique totale aux termes des documents de projection du FNB HMJI. Les coûts de couverture peuvent dépasser cette fourchette. Le gestionnaire publie, sur son site Web, les coûts de couverture fixes mensuels à jour pour le FNB HMJI pour le mois à venir, tels que négociés avec la contrepartie aux documents de projection sur la base des conditions actuelles du marché.
