Understanding the New Commodities Fueling the Future

By
Mark Noble
Nicolas Piquard

This webinar will cover:

  • Why investors may need more commodity exposure.
  • Introducing the “New Commodities”.
  • Capturing short-term inflationary trends and long-term thematic trends.
  • Outline of the Horizons Carbon Credits ETF (CARB) and how it works.
  • Potential long-term drivers of returns for low-carbon commodity sectors of Lithium and Uranium.

One of the biggest challenges for investors in 2022 is reconciling the need for diversification, largely in allocating more portfolio exposure to commodities and hard assets, with the fact that many of these sectors and asset classes are at odds with a longstanding shift towards responsible investing.

This is where the “New Commodities” come in: sectors and asset classes that could benefit from inflation, while offering exposure to longer-term trends in renewable energy and carbon emission reduction.

Join Mark Noble, Executive Vice President of ETF Strategy at Horizons ETFs, alongside Nick Piquard, CFA, Vice President and Portfolio Manager, as they discuss how investors can tackle inflation using commodity focused-themes with potential long-term drivers of return, including carbon credits, lithium, uranium and copper.
