The 2022 Preferred Share Outlook

By
Mark Noble
Nicolas Normandeau

Could Preferred Shares extend their 2021 winning streak through 2022? While fixed income returns were tepid in 2021, preferred shares shone during the year, thanks to the introduction of Limited Recourse Capital Notes (LRCNs) and other factors. Join Mark Noble, Executive Vice President of ETF Strategy as he speaks to Fiera Capital Portfolio Manager Nicolas Normandeau, one of Canada’s largest managers of preferred shares, as he highlights his outlook for the year ahead on the asset class, the target return, the continuing benefits of LRCN replacements and how rising rates from the Bank of Canada will impact issuance yields.
